Jeezy has carried the torch as a pioneer of the South's trap movement for over a decade, but now it seems that fire is soon going to burn out. The Snowman announced on Twitter on Thursday morning (March 22) that Thug Motivation 104 will be the final album of his decorated rap career. "As the Cold Summer tour comes to an end..
It was inspiring seeing my day one fans since my first album & class TM 101 come out every night. Now class is coming to an end. It's time for Graduation! My Last Album & Final Class: TM104 #TrustYaProcess," Jeezy reflectively concluded. The ATLien's career kicked off in 2005 with the classic Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101 and the 40-year-old continued to drop seven additional albums during his career blessing
fans with endless anthems and memorable moments throughout the journey. Jeezy recently shared his latest album, Pressure, on the 2017 anniversary of The Chronic and has been on the road in support of the project with Tee Grizzley since. Jeezy has yet to reveal a release date for his TM104 finale.
Just about a week after letting loose a preview, BlocBoy JB and 21 Savage have unveiled their new banger "Rover 2.0." The song is an updated version of a previous track from the Memphis rapper and a big-time slapper that definitely justifies the hype surrounding it. JB and 21 get grimy on the new cut.
"Headshot a nigga ass to see what his mind do/Catch him at a red light or a fuckin' drive-thru (that's on my mama)," BlocBoy spits. Nigga playin' with the crew like we ain't gon' shoot/Ooh-woo, now them grapes come through/First 48 and yellow tape keep you from comin' through." For his part, 21 infuses his typically icy, monotone flow into the hard-hitting Tay Keith track. "My baby mama with it, she'll mace ya/Every nigga with me on that gang stuff," he rhymes.
"Slaughter Gang, we came to shoot your kickback up (21)/Nigga disrespect me, he get shit bagged up (21)." It's a banger for sure. "Rover 2.0." follows BlocBoy JB's lauded collab "Look Alive" with Drake, which debuted in the top 5 of the Billboard charts and currently sits at No. 7. The video for the track has more than 80 million plays to date and put even more eyes on the Memphis rapper's "shoot dance." Next up for BlocBoy is his Simi mixtape, which is set to drop next month, and performances at Smokers Club Festival in Long Beach, Calif. on April 28 and the Rolling Loud Festival in Miami on May 13. “Only thing you can expect is to see me. It’s coming soon, real soon," he says of Simi. "I don’t know what I want to call it. It’s a project. It’s the best one, I think, so far."
Over the last few years or so, Diddy and Jay-Z have continually found themselves near the very top of Forbes' wealthiest acts in hip-hop list. Now, it looks like the two are combining their immense wealth to help Black people across the U.S. In a new GQ cover story, Diddy reveals that he and Hov have teamed up to create a new app designed to help people locate Black-owned businesses.
The idea, which is one that stems from the longstanding thought that Black people can empower themselves by building their collective wealth, is that their app will ultimately make it easier to help Black people help themselves. Diddy makes a point to say that won't stop Black people from shopping other places, but rather, it will help Black businesses grow. “This is not about taking away from any other community,” Diddy tells the pub. “We'll still go to Chinatown. We'll still buy Gucci!” He continued before laughing.
“But the application will make it possible for us to have an economic community. It's about blacks gaining economic power.” This news arrives just a day after it was revealed that Hov, who's voiced his issues with the justice system in the past, and Roc Nation were investing $3 million in a startup company by the name of Promise. The program is meant to be an alternative for non-violent offenders who can't afford to be in prison or make bail.
There's no word on when, exactly, Hov and Diddy's app will be hitting our iPhones and Androids, but it does seem like Diddy and Hov are hard at work on it. Here's to hoping we get more details really soon.
Meek Mill's lawyers are continuing their tireless efforts to free him and today (March 20) have filed a request to have Judge Genece Brinkley, who handed down his four-year sentence for violating probation, to be removed from the case.
Meek's legal team said that a primary reason they decided to file the petition for removal was that Judge Brinkley's personal attorney, Charles Peruto Jr., told the press he would sue Meek's legal and management team over their allegations that the judge attempted to extort the "Dreams and Nightmares" rapper. The documents allege that Judge Brinkley took "an unusual interest in, and trying to inject herself into,
[Meek Mill's] personal and professional life." Further, they assert that the case "involved a pattern of judicial (mis)conduct that has prejudiced the rights of a probationer and threatens to undermine the public's confidence in the integrity of the judicial system." In lay-mans terms, this means that Meek's team is following up at their promise to clap back at Judge Brinkley for handing down what they perceive as an overly harsh sentence due to her alleged personal vendetta against the rapper. In addition to filing for the judge to be removed,
they also have requested that Meek Mill be freed immediately on bail pending the proceedings. The last few weeks have been a roller coaster for Meek Mill, after his arresting officer was revealed to have been on the Philadelphia District Attorney's secret list of corrupt cops. He's also been granted a hearing for his Post Conviction Relief Act petition, which could potentially lead to his freedom soon.
The Nas versus Kelis custody battle over their 8-year-old son has thankfully come to an amicable end. The ex-couple has agreed to share joint legal as well as physical custody of their son Knight. The legal docs have not been made available but JAMZ RADIO ATALNAT says the negotiation is very specific to the point of who will be spending time with their son on varying holidays throughout the year, as they will be alternating birthdays with the New York rapper taking the even ones.
Just yesterday (March 19) it was reported that both of the artist's lawyers were firing off insults toward each other making hopes of an agreement grim. Kelis claims to sit in on a deposition when Nas' attorney reportedly referred to the singer's legal representation as a "fattie" and "dick." At the very end of 2017 Esco claimed Kelis was being "hostile" throughout the heated custody battle. The Queens MC previously believed his ex wasn't interested in coming to a mutually-beneficial agreement.
The "Milkshake" artist is also looking for more than the $8,000 a month Nas currently gives her as his net worth continues to skyrocket with a plethora of good investments ranging from Bitcoin to making $40 million by aligning with a doorbell company. It's good to see cooler heads prevail in this situation as the co-parents did right by their child. Nas and Kelis formerly tied the knot back in 2005 before divorcing five years later (May 2010).
If Rick Ross was in dire straits earlier this month, he didn't show it at all while doing TWO shows this weekend ... on both sides of the country.
A day after his first show since being hospitalized -- Ross jetted back to his hometown of Miami for a performance at LIV on Sunday ... and jumped onstage while he was there. It looked like a packed house ... Lil Wayne, Jason Derulo and rapper Fresh were also there. The place was decked out with signs reading,
"Welcome Back Rick Ross." Coming on the heels of his early Sunday morning gig in Vegas ... the Miami appearance wrapped up a weekend schedule that would be considered busy for anyone -- much less someone recovering from an apparent heart-related emergency. He's come a long way in less than 3 weeks.
NBA YoungBoy has been grabbed by the long arm of the law, because he's just been indicted for beating the hell out of his girlfriend ...
and one of the charges is kidnapping. A grand jury in Waycross, Georgia handed down the 2-count indictment for aggravated assault and kidnapping... you see YoungBoy and his GF in a hotel hallway, and he body slams her. As for the kidnapping charge ... he drags her into a hotel room and that's the basis of the charge.
The girlfriend did not want to press charges, saying they were just engaged in horseplay, but people on the Grand Jury didn't buy her story. YoungBoy was released from jail last week on $75k bond.
After spending 18 days in a Georgia jail on aggravated assault and kidnapping charges, YoungBoy Never Broke Again is a free man. According to the Ware County, Ga. Sheriff's Office,
the rapper was released from the Ware County Jail on $75,000 bond Thursday (March 15). While he's been silent on Instagram and Twitter following the news of his release, a video is circulating on social media in which a man who is presumably YoungBoy says, "Only thing they gotta do is free Kodak now." The Baton Rouge, La. rhymer, born Kentrell Gaulden, was arrested on Feb. 26 after being extradited to Georgia from Tallahassee, Fla.,
where he was initially locked up on Feb. 25 on a fugitive warrant. The arrest stems from an incident at a hotel in Waycross, Ga., where YoungBoy got into an altercation with his girlfriend, Jania. The violent incident was caught on hotel surveillance footage and surfaced shortly after the rapper's initial arrest. The video shows YoungBoy and Jania fighting in a hotel hallway. While she initially refuted claims that he assaulted her, the footage finds the 19-year-old 38 Baby rapper slamming his girlfriend to the ground outside of their room.
She's seen attempting to run away from him, but he tries pulling her back toward him roughly. During the commotion, hotel guests called the police, but YoungBoy and his girlfriend had fled the scene. Blood was found in the hotel room following the assault. After leaving Georgia, YoungBoy headed to Florida where he was scheduled to perform at The Moon nightclub. However, his tour bus was stopped by police before he could hit the stage. Authorities discovered the rapper had a warrant in Georgia for the alleged assault.
He was then taken into custody and charged with kidnapping and aggravated assault. On March 5, following his domestic violence-related arrest, prosecutors requested that a Baton Rouge, La. judge revoke the rapper's probation, while the Assistant District Attorney of the East Baton Rouge Parish deemed him "a threat to society and the safety of others." Prosecutors wanted him to serve a suspended 10-year prison term for his role in a non-fatal drive-by shooting that occurred in 2016. During his recent stay in jail, his forthcoming album,
Until Death Call My Name, was pushed back to an April 27 release date and he also let loose the Future-assisted song "Right or Wrong" earlier this week. His girlfriend Jania even previewed a track of her own while YoungBoy was behind bars, in which she raps about the assault. "Yeah, yeah, yeah, we good," she begins on the track. "He was pulling me, I was pulling him/That's how we like to play (that's just us)." Now that he's been released, YoungBoy will likely hit the studio to prepare for the release of Until Death Call My Name, a 13-track project featuring previously released songs "Outside Today" and "Solar Eclipse."Listen Live: www.jamz101fm.com
Snapchat is doing crisis management after getting called out by Rihanna for allowing an ad to run on the social media platform that
poked fun of her domestic violence incident at the hands of Chris Brown. A rep from the National Network to End Domestic Violence tells JAMZ RADIO ATLANTA they were contacted by Snapchat Thursday asking if the social app could bring an NNEDV member onto it's board. The NNEDV rep we spoke to said their role
will be to educate the Snapchat staff on domestic abuse and what's appropriate to post, so they don't make similar mistakes again. Rihanna blasted the ailing social media platform for running an ad for a game app called "Would You Rather?" that disturbingly asked:
Would you rather "Slap Rihanna" or "Punch Chris Brown?" People were quick to call Snapchat tone deaf, and Snapchat rapidly made a mea culpa, calling the ad "disgusting" and admitting they made a "terrible mistake" by not putting the kibosh on it during the reviewing process.
Ray J and Princess Love are having a baby, and they've kept the sex of the kid under wraps -- but if you peep the registry they got for their shower ...
it's pretty clear they're having a girl. Ray and Princess' baby registry is littered with pink -- from onesies to cribs and literally everything in between -- so you can kinda only come to one logical conclusion. The gifts ain't cheap either. A baby basket made of cashmere runs about $2,800, while a travel crib costs about $300.
A lot of outfits range between $25 and $200 ... and a damn rocking sheep (horses are out apparently) will set their guests back nearly $1,000! Speaking of the actual baby shower ... sources tell us Ray J and Princess Love are hosting it this weekend in L.A. at a top-of-the-line hotel, and they're not skimping on expenses.
We're told the whole thing ended up costing more than $250,000. As we reported ... Ray J announced Princess was pregnant this past fall. The kid's due sometime this summer. Anything for baby ... girl.
After a video of Tory Lanez and Travis Scott getting in eachother's faces surfaced this week, Lanez has decided to speak out and make it known that there's no beef.
The footage, which surfaced on Tuesday (March 13) shows the two rappers on what appears to be the tour bus in a heated argument. It's hard to make out the words, but Tory can be heard saying "So, what you wanna do bro? Are we apologizing or you wanna shoot the fade, my nigga? Literally every person can get out of here and we can shoot the fade,
my nigga." Now the 'Memories Don't Die' artist has taken to Twitter to denounce any rumors of bad blood. "Me and @trvisXX been got passed this irrelevant ass argument a year and a half ago .. that's my dawg," he wrote. Travis Scott has yet to comment on the video. However, this is the second public mention
Tory Lanez is making about the argument, after he rapped about it on "Hate to Say," a track off his album which was released last week. "Me and Travis Scott almost fought at the Mala Luna/We both agreed shortly after that it was music," he raps. Given that both Tory Lanez and Travis Scott were on the lineup during the Mala Luna Festival in San Antonio,
Texas in October 2016, it's reasonable to believe the altercation might have taken place then. Good to hear that Tory Lanez and Travis Scott have buried the hatchet. Maybe we'll even get a collaboration out of them soon.
Kanye West's clothing company is being sued for allegedly ripping off camouflage patterns from a competing company.
Yeezy Apparel and Unknwn are being sued by Jordan Outdoor Enterprises over camo hoodies, camo thigh-high boots, cargo pants, hooded bomber jackets, shirts, boots and other stuff. The lawsuit claims Jordan has distinctive markings on its Realtree line and Kanye's companies ripped them off.
Kanye's companies have used Kim Kardashian to model some of the gear. According to the lawsuit, a rep from Yeezy contacted Jordan to discuss using the camo patterns, but when the folks at Jordan said Kanye's company needed to license the items, they went radio silent and then without authorization they
went ahead and copied the patterns. Jordan is asking a judge not only for damage, but to stop Kanye's company in their tracks from continuing to sell the items in question and to turn over and destroy the items that already exist.
YFN Lucci's debut EP Long Live Nut features the popular song "Everyday We Lit," which hit No. 33 on the Billboard Hot 100, but according to an Atlanta rapper,
Lucci stole the song. Rackboy Cam is now suing Lucci saying he jacked his song "Everything Be Lit" featuring Maino and Vado for his track "Everyday We Lit." According to legal documents obtained by JAMZ RADIO ATLANTA, Cam says his song came out first in 2015 and claims Lucci's 2017 song is virtually the same track,
especially the hook which features a similar melody. On "Everyday We Lit," YFN and PnB sing, "Everyday we lit, yeah, everyday we lit, yeah/Everyday we lit, yeah, everyday we lit, yeah," while on Cam's song, Maino sings, "Everything be lit/We lit, we lit." Rackboy Cam also argues that Lucci stole two of the main things Cam brags about in his song—jewelry and women. The rapper now wants a judge to pull
"Everyday We Lit" from the radio and halt all sales immediately. Cam also wants Lucci to hand over any profits he has made from the song. Last week, YFN Lucci dropped his debut album, Ray Ray From Summerhill.
The 20-track project includes features from Offset, YFN Trae Pound, Meek Mill, Dreezy and T.I. The album also includes the previously released songs "Boss Life" and "Street Kings." JAMZ RADIO ATLANTA has reached out to YFN Lucci's team at Warner Bros. Records for a comment on the lawsuit.Listen Live: www.jamz101fm.com
Interscope Records has a new artist on their team after Chicago rapper Juice Wrld inked a deal with the label. According to a report from Billboard, a rep for Interscope confirmed the deal but wouldn't reveal specific details.
But sources claim the deal is worth more than $3 million and would give Juice a joint venture with the imprint. The 19-year-old rapper has made a name for himself on Soundcloud thanks to songs like "All Girls Are the Same" and "Old Me," the former which has surpassed 5 million streams on the website.
The rapper is also featured on a song that was previewed by Madeintyo in February. Following the news of his deal, Juice Wrld hopped on Instagram to celebrate. "Y’all see how good God is 999 Till I die bitch I’m blessed to have a winning team around me too @nolimit_gmoney 2018 I’m taking over the world ??????,"
he wrote. Juice also recently released a video for his "All Girls Are the Same" track, which is directed by fellow Windy City director, Cole Bennett. The animated video plays out like an acid trip on screen as the trippy visuals feature Jucie in various odd scenarios. The video has already racked up nearly 3 million views on YouTube.Listen Live: www.jamz101fm.com
The baseball player who punched and beat his girlfriend multiple times in a stadium stairwell PROPOSED to her after his arrest ... and she said, "Yes." JAMZ RADIO ATLANTA has learned ...
Danry Vasquez and his girlfriend are describing themselves as a "happy couple" ... roughly a year-and-a-half after he was arrested for the violent incident. Multiple sources tell us ... Danry's GF begged prosecutors not to push forward with criminal charges after the arrest and stuck by his side the entire time. In fact,
Vasquez posted a photo in Oct. 2016 showing the two smiling together and described her as "the person who is always with me in the good and the not so good!" "You are the love of my life and with you I will be until the end of the world princess!!!" The two got engaged around Nov. 2017. We're told the couple had been
dating since they were teenagers and the GF was adamant that the attack was "an isolated incident." We spoke with Danry's attorney who tells us, "I recall conversations about the extreme stress he was under and the pressures to perform that he was young.
Came to USA at a young age with no parents (accommodating him) and no guidance ... just his dreams. She never excused his behavior just loved him enough to believe they could move forward."Listen Live: www.jamz101fm.com
Cardi B's set to pop out her baby this summer but, unlike Beyonce, she's not letting pregnancy stop her from performing at Coachella. Sources close to Cardi B tell JAMZ RADIO ATLANTA
... the rapper's due the first week of July and will be close to 7 months pregnant with Offset's kiddo when she takes the stage next month at Coachella. It's unclear if she'll dress to cover up what will most likely be a noticeable baby bump by the time she takes the stage.
Notice, she was more modest last week at the iHeartRadio Music Awards.... Cardi's people told nightclub staffers she's pregnant during Super Bowl weekend. She denied it, and so did her baby daddy ... but we're told the baby train's full steam ahead. Our sources say Cardi plans to remain in work mode until she pops.
For example, we're told she's spent the last 2 weeks buried in the studio to complete her debut album. She also fully intends to go on tour with Bruno Mars in September ... a whopping 2 months after giving birth to her first child. She's got a lot on the line --
about $100k per night of the tour, and the same goes for her Coachella dates. That's a lotta diapers.

Meek Mill won't get a fight from the District Attorney's Office on his motion to be released on bail ... JAMZ RADIO ATLANTA has learned.
The D.A. filed docs Wednesday saying there's a "strong showing of likelihood" that Meek's conviction will be reversed due to a police corruption scandal in Philly. Prosecutors point out hundreds of previous convictions have already been overturned, and they think Meek will follow suit, shortly.
As a result, prosecutors see no reason for Meek to be held without bail. As we reported, Meek's attorneys have filed several motions, including one for him to be released while the court decides whether to uphold the 2 to 4 year sentence he got from Judge Genece Brinkley. Meek's mother, Kathy Williams, tells JAMZ RADIO NETWORK ...
"I would like to thank the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office for carefully evaluating my son’s matter and not opposing the request for bail. The fact that Robert’s entire conviction could be overturned is a blessing and I pray that God gives Judge Brinkley the wisdom to make the right decision and allow my son to return home to his family. I truly believe justice will prevail.” Story developing ...

and Brielle's purse and wallet got jacked. It's unclear if cops have a suspect yet, but Kim seems pretty confident her security cams should help bust the perp. She tweeted out,

Juelz Santana's gun and drug possession charges just became more clear -- he allegedly had oxycodone on him during the airport bust ... JAMZ RADIO ATLANTA has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell us Juelz had eight oxycodone pills in his travel bag when he was arrested for unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a controlled dangerous substance at Newark International Airport last week.
He's due in court Wednesday to face the drug charge. As we reported ... Juelz was arrested Monday after fleeing security when TSA found a gun in his carry-on bag in the x-ray tunnel. The drug charge is a felony, for which he's been formally charged.
Nick Gordon's girlfriend -- the one he was arrested for beating -- has fired off a letter to the judge saying it was all her fault. Laura Leal filed docs in Seminole County, Florida ... and
they include the letter asking the judge to lift the no-contact order. Laura says she needs Nick's love and guidance and wants to speak to her boyfriend again. In the letter, obtained by JAMZ RADIO, Laura says the case against Nick is not accurate, particularly when it comes to her alleged injuries on the night of Nick's arrest.
She writes, "Pictures were taken of my face the night of the incident because cops stated my lip was 'bleeding' when in all reality my lips were chapped and dry ... There was no marks on my face." Laura says she suffers from severe anger issues and the whole thing was a misunderstanding. She wrote, "I am seeking help and determined to take
the condition seriously as I have been diagnosed bipolar. He is not at blame, and should not be pushed into any trouble or consequences due to my actions." This all seems to line up with what Nick said when he called 911.... Nick sounded frantic, and cried as he said he "sounds so lame because I'm getting beat up by a woman."
